Peerify ✦ School project ✦ 2021

Peerify is a peer-support service that was designed for university students to help them with time management, mentorship, and more effective communication.

This service was developed by a team of three design students. We conducted a thematic analysis to define the main UX goals: helpfulness, usefulness, and accessibility. The core features include a schedule for university-related events, a chat feature, and a mentor chat, all available around the clock.

The service’s conceptual model was mapped out based on our ideation process, and prototypes were iterated accordingly. Each team member created their own prototype, and we merged the best elements from each. The service was optimized for both mobile and desktop platforms.

My contributions to this project included conducting user interviews, leading the thematic analysis, designing interface prototypes, creating illustrations, and refining the final hi-fi prototypes with transaction and interaction patterns. Our team collaborated closely throughout the process and also developed an evaluation plan for the service. The final design reflects input from all team members.

Learnings ✺

This was one of my first projects during my university studies. I learned that it is very important to conduct interviews and gather enough data to design a product that responds to the needs of the users. Data analysis helps with ideating a lot. Building a consistent and accessible design requires lots of iteration.
